For people who plan trips in Google Maps

You planned the trip in Google Maps.
Pinbook remembers it.

Turn your saved pins into a travel blog — track where you actually went, then share the recommendations worth passing on.

How it works
1

Export your list

Pull the saved list you built while planning your trip out of Google Maps, using Google Takeout.

2

Upload the file

Drop the CSV into Pinbook. It finds each place on the map and groups them by city for you.

3

Make it yours

Mark the places you actually visited, rate them, keep your notes on the map — then share it.

Get your data from Google Maps

Google doesn't let apps read your saved places directly, so you export them yourself. It takes about two minutes.

  • 1

    Open Google Takeout

Go to takeout.google.com, signed in to the Google account with your saved places.

  • 2

    Select only "Saved"

Click Deselect all, then scroll down and check Saved — your Google Maps lists. Leave the format as CSV.

SavedCollections of saved links (images, places, web pages, etc.) from Google Search and Maps.
  • 3

    Create the export

Click Next step, keep the "email a download link" option, then Create export. It's usually ready in a few minutes.

  • 4

    Download and unzip

Open the emailed link, download the .zip, and unzip it. Inside a Saved folder you'll find one CSV per list, named after each list.

  • 5

    Upload the trip you want

Drop the CSV for that trip into Pinbook, on the right. That's it.

  • You can only export your own saved lists — sign in to the right Google account.
  • Pinbook reads the CSV file only. It never connects to your Google account.
  • Your export lists each place's name and Google Maps link, but not its coordinates — so Pinbook looks each one up, and you confirm any that don't match.
